Beulah Oveta Sanders Mahanay Age: 95 - went to be with her Lord and Savior on July 5, 2006.Services were held at 10:00 am Saturday, July 8, 2006 at Liberty Baptist Church. Burial followed in Pioneer Cemetery, Beaver, Oklahoma at 2:00 pm. Officiants were Dan Martin, Minister - Liberty Baptist Church, Dalhart, Texas and Rev. Dunlap, Pastor - Valleyview Nazarene Church in Amarillo, TXBeulah was born December 4, 1910, in rural Pierson, Piate County, Illinois, to Oliver Pete and Elizabeth Lizzie (Staller) Sanders. The family farmed in that vicinity for a few years. When Beulah was five years old the family moved to Pana, Illinois, where Pete worked in the coal mines taking care of the mules. When Beulah was nine years old they moved to a farm 2 miles South of Beaver, Oklahoma. Beulah was the youngest of five children. Beulah and Feral Preston Bill Mahanay were united in marriage on October 15, 1927. God loaned them four children to bless their home. They were William Harold Billy, Carl Edward Slats, Oveta Mae and Kenneth Eugene Gene. Oveta died at the age of 13 years 10 month. Bill and Beulah farmed in the Logan community until the spring of 1930, when they moved to Forgan, Oklahoma, where Bill operated the Magnolia Filling Station. In 1934, the family moved back to Beaver, where they operated a mattress and furniture repair shop. During the war it was hard for Bill to get supplies for the shop, so Beulah went to work at the Beaver County Hospital to help with the living expenses. She attended night school and received her L.P.N. license and cap on June 25th, 1954, in a ceremony held at the Methodist Church in Beaver. When the new hospital opened, Beulah went to work at the McGrew Clinic. She worked there for 34 years until her retirement in 1975. On April 3, 1999, Beulah moved to Dalhart, Texas, to be near her Son and Daughter-in-law, Billy and Lois Mahanay. Beulah was predeceased by her parents, Pete and Lizzie Sanders; Husband, Feral Preston Bill; Bills parents, Frank and Lizzy Mahanay; Daughter, Oveta Mae Mahanay; Sons, Kenneth Eugene and Carl Edward Mahanay; Brothers, Clark and Ramond Sanders; Sisters, Stella Niles and Hazel Smith; Brothers-in-Law, Ralph Smith and Ray Mahanay; Sister-in-Law, Alice Mahanay and one Grandson, Michael Mahanay. She leaves behind Son and Daughter-in-Law, Billy and Lois Mahanay; Daughter-in-law Pat Mahanay; Eight grandchildren and spouses; Fourteen Great Grandchildren; eight Step Great Grandchildren; Great Great Grandchildren; Sisters-in-law Edith Mahanay, Ona Mahanay and Leola Elder; as well as many Nieces and Nephews.Memorials may be made to - Liberty Baptist Church - 12020 US Highway 87 S.
