Elizabeth Ann "Beth" Mackey, 70, passed away on Friday, February 5, 2021. Viewing was held at Horizon Funeral Home from 9:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m. on Wednesday, February 10, 2021. A service was held at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, February 10, 2021 at the Church of the Nazarene in Dalhart, Texas officiated by Pastor Rick Calvert. Burial followed at Memorial Park Cemetery in Dalhart, Texas. Beth was born on January 31, 1951, in Dalhart, to Norville "Scotty" Scott and Betty (Greer) Scott. She attended school in Dalhart and was a graduate of the class of 1969. She raised her two children Scotty J Moore and Nichole Rhea Moore in Dalhart. Beth married Harry Mackey Jr., on January 7, 1991, in Dalhart at the Church of the Nazarene. Beth had a great love for caring for others. She graduated from West Texas State University with a Bachelor of Science in nursing. She started her nursing career at Coon Memorial Hospital. She worked many years in Dalhart at the hospital and home health agency, as well as extending her work area to both Baptist St. Anthony and North West Texas Hospital in Amarillo, TX. she had a passion for teaching others as well. She was a nursing instructor at Oklahoma Panhandle State University for several years. If you knew Beth, you know she had a love for cooking and sewing. She loved to take meals to those who were sick or homebound and share her love and caregiving with them. All the children in the family were blessed with many handmade blankets and her homemade decorated birthday cakes and decorated cookies. All made with love. She left them all with memories that will last a lifetime. Beth is survived by her husband, Harry Mackey Jr. of Dalhart and her daughter, Nichole Vogel of Dalhart. Her 5 grandchildren: Cory Vogel, and wife Kaitlyn of Roanoke, IL; Chantel Hege, and husband Kameron of Annawan, IL; Cameron Vogel and Claire Pyle of Peoria, IL; Brynn Moore and Brielee Moore, both of Dalhart. Her 5 great grandchildren: Charlotte, Leyla, Arya, Lila and a great grandson on the way. Her sister, Pat Gustin, and husband Sam, and her brother, Bruce Scott, and wife Larae, all of Dalhart. She is loved by many nieces and nephews. Beth is preceded in death by her parents, her son Scotty J Moore and her in-laws, Harry and Madeline Mackey.
