Ben Harrell, Jr. died Tuesday, September 16, 2014 in Amarillo, Texas.Services were held at 10:00 am on Saturday, September 20, 2014 at the Antioch Baptist Church of Dalhart with burial in Memorial Park Cemetery, Dalhart, Texas.Officiating was Rev. Curtis Green, Pastor Benjamin Franklin Harrell, Jr. was born September 25, 1946 in East Palatka, Florida to Benjamin and Bessie (Johnson) Harrell. Ben was raised in Florida and graduated from Stanton Vocational High School in 1963. He joined the US army and served in Vietnam. Mr. Harrell moved to the Texas Panhandle in 1983. He later moved to Amarillo where he worked as a Respiratory therapist. Ben is survived by a granddaughter Regina Covin of Jacksonville, FL, a brother Willie Brooks, of Dalhart, TX and a sister Rosemary Boyd of Jacksonville, FL., a special friend: Sharon Burks, and numerous nieces and nephews as well as great nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents, a daughter Darlena McFadden who died in 2012.
