Becky McClellan, age 65 died Saturday, October 17, 2009 in Amarillo, TXGraveside services was held at 10:30 AM on Thursday, October 22, 2009 in Texline Cemetery with, Rev. Jeff Bayley, officiating. Becky McClellan was born November 5, 1943 in Dalhart, Texas to J.C. and Luretta Stovall. She has lived most of her life in the Texline area. She married J.W. McClellan,Jr. on New Years Day of 1961 in Hartley after they had been fighting grass fires all day. The wedding was officiated by her grandad, J.C. Stovall,Sr., who cried during the entire ceremony. She was a farmers wife, and was dedicated to God. She enjoyed reading, crocheting, watching Days of our Lives, dancing, fishing, and playing with her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. She liked being with her friends and neighbors and was a mom to many children in Texline.She was preceded in death by an infant daughter: Sheryl Deanne, one brother: Dan Stovall, and her parents: J.C. and Luretta Stovall. Mrs. McClellan was survived by her husband: J.W. McClellan of the home, two daughters: Danise Edmonds and husband Brian of Katy, and Shera Dawn McClellan of Texline. One son: Kevin McClellan and wife Rhonda Forks of LaGrange, GA. Two brothers: Butch Stovall and wife Mary Ann of Dalhart, and Richard Stovall and wife Reg of Lake Orion, MI. Two sisters: Liz Catron and husband Ken of Farmington, NM, and Jeaneene Poll and husband Terry of Green River, WY; 6 grandchildren, 2 great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.Family received friends at Horizon Funeral Home of Dalhart on Wednesday, October 21, 2009. In lieu of flowers memorials can be made to American Lung Association or Texline Community Center.
