Avonelle Thompson White, 86, died Thursday, September 15, 2016 in Dalhart, TXFuneral Services were held at 2:00 pm on Monday, September 19, 2016 at the First Baptist Church in Dalhart. Services at Bruss-Heitner Funeral Home - 102 N 5th St.Bricelyn, MN - Friday, September 23 , 2016 -visitation at 1:00 pm - services will be at 2:00 pm. Burial will be in the Clayton Cemetery, Bricelyn, MN. Local arrangements under the care of Horizon Funeral Home.Avonelle K. Thompson was born April 8, 1930 in Woodbury County, Iowa. Her loving parents were Clyde and Nellie Kenyon. She was a graduate of Albert Lea Senior High school, Albert Lea, Minnesota and also a graduate of Methodist-Kahler School of Nursing, Rochester, M N in 1955, receiving her Registered Nurse diploma. On August 14, 1955 she married Duane Thompson of Bricelyn, MN. To this union were born 3 children Kevin, Barry and Lorilee. They lived on a farm in Bricelyn, MN until 1979 when Duane and Avonelle moved to Dalhart, TX to continue farming. Kevin also joined them at this time. Mr. Thompson preceded her in death in 2005. On June 11, 2011 she married Donald W. White of Amarillo and they made their home in Dalhart.Avonelle worked at Coon Memorial Nursing Home for over 24 years and in Home Health for 10 years. She was a devoted mother and grandmother. She was a member of the First Baptist Church and active in the Chapel Sunday school class.She is survived by her husband, Don White, children, Kevin (Michelle) Thompson of Farwell, TX; Barry (Deanna) Thompson of Wabasha, MN; and Lori (Dave) Lebahn of Farmington, MN. Eight grandchildren also survive: Robert Thompson, Michael and Courtney Reid, Jerrica and Roper Ledbetter, Kambria Reid and Jonathon Richey (Fiance')Jessalyn and Brandin Mischel, Brenton and Leah Thompson, Courtney Thompson, Christoper and Alexis Lebahn, Justin Lebahn and Tiffany Phillips (Fiance'). and 15 great - grandchildren.
