Austin Medford, 42, died on Monday, February 2, 2009 in Dalhart, TX.Services were held at 2:00 pm on Thursday February 5, 2009 at the First Baptist Church in Dalhart, Texas. Burial followed in Memorial Park Cemetery in Dalhart, under the direction of Horizon Funeral Home.Officiating will be Jerry Davis, Pastor of the Full Faith Church, Carthage, MO, and John Hunter, Pastor of Peoples Church, Dalhart, TXAustin Douglas Medford was born on September 12, 1966 in Burlington, Colorado. He had most of his schooling in Dalhart and graduated from Dalhart High School in 1984. Austin loved people and loved to visit. He didnt know a stranger and had no enemies. He was always a gentleman. Austin was the best Dad, could fix anything, lived to work and cared deeply for his family and friends. He loved the drag races, NHRA, especially the funny car races. He tried to never miss a race. Austin would help anyone in need. He served on the Meals on Wheels Board and delivered the meals as long as he could. He not only sprayed the weeds, but loved to cut corn too- he would say he loved watching the corn dump because, in the sun, it looked like gold. Jean commented on his life by saying Austin was the best man I know and Im glad I was blessed to have him as long as I did.
