Burial was in Memorial Park Cemetery under the direction of Horizon Funeral Home.Officiating will be Father Robert Busch, Pastor St. Anthonys Catholic Church, Dalhart, TexasSurvivors are Sons: August & his wife Barbetta Hesse III of Canyon, TX and Jason & his wife Melody Hesse of Canyon, TX Daughter: Becky & her husband Jerry Mitchell of Dalhart, TX7 Grandchildren Jamie and Bruce Gillispie of Dalhart, TX, Jody and Kim Mitchell of Midlothian, VA, Jocelyn Mitchell of Amarillo, TX, Charles, Charles, August IV, Justin and Jarod Hesse all of Canyon, TX and4 Great Grandchildrenincluding Mary Spencer Rumley of Dalhart and one sister Irma Joe Mitchell of Dalhart, TXPreceded in death by his Parents, his wife Cheniel, 2 daughters Jamie Joe Hesse & Mary Lou Hesse & sister Mary Render 1 grandson Lyon HesseAugust Henry Hesse Jr. was born June 28, 1917 in Dalhart, Texas to August Sr. and Violotte (Hennard) Hesse. He graduated from Price Memorial College in Amarillo, TX and attended Regis in Denver, CO and Draughon Business College in Wichita Falls, TX. August met the love of his life, Cheniel Hawkins in the summer of 1938. They were married on October 7, 1938 and were married 65 years. They had five children. August entered the Navy in 1945. He was a Seaman Second Class and was stationed in Guam where he worked as a Chemical Warehouse Man. He worked alongside his father at Ely-Hesse Wholesale Grocery, 200 Laundry and Dalhart Insurance. In the early 1960s August went into farming and farmed until 1998. He had a love for all animals and had many pets throughout the years. August enjoyed raising Shetland ponies, animals, photography, kids and his family. He was active in leading the boy scouts and was a life long member of St. Anthonys Catholic Church. August was a gentle, faith-filled man and a joy to his family. Memorials to: St. Anthonys Catholic School Trust or Memorial Hospice
