Aubrey Radford, 80 of Dalhart, passed away on Sunday, January 16, 2022. A Graveside Service is scheduled for 2:00PM on Tuesday, January 18, 2022 at Memorial Park Cemetery with Ty Hancock officiating. Arrangements are entrusted to Horizon Funeral Home.
Aubrey was born on June 16th, 1941 in Quannah TX. He was one of eight children born to Wright and Blanche Radford. The family later relocated to Hooker, OK where he and his family would call home. Aubrey graduated from Hooker High School in 1960 and would continue his education at Oklahoma Panhandle State University in Goodwell, OK. Aubrey also enlisted and served in the USAF, spending the majority of his enlisted time in Dover DE and in Okinawa. Upon returning to the states, he completed his education at OPSU and relocated to Dalhart, TX in 1977.
Aubrey would follow his degree in Accounting and work at several positions including Co-op and Dallam County before retiring from Monfort in Cactus, TX in 1999. Aubrey married Patricia Joy Bishop on September 1, 1979 and they made their home in Dalhart until Patricias passing in 2010. While married to Pat, he found several hobbies including wood working in his backyard shop and an avid numismatic. He closely watched all football and baseball leagues, baseball being his favorite sport. Aubrey was an active member in the United Pentecostal Church in Dalhart and would later find his church home with Lincoln Street Baptist Church. In 2014, Aubrey relocated to Farmington NM, for a short amount of time and returned to his home in Dalhart in 2017. In April, 2021, Aubrey relocated to Coldwater Manor in Stratford, TX where he would receive the care he required.
Aubrey is survived by his son, Kevin Radford and his wife Shelly of Stratford, TX. His brother Charlie Radford of The Woodlands, TX, Darrell Radford and his wife Nancy, of Kingwood, TX, and his sister Diane Halverson and her husband, Dave of Farmington, NM.
Aubrey is preceded in death, by his late wife Patricia Radford (2010), parents Wright and Blanche Radford, brother Alan Radford (1935) of Quanah sister Sandras Radford (1935) of Quanah, brother Walter Radford (1995) and sister Marie Blassingame (2015) of Sugarland, TX.
