Arthur "Art" Arguello passed away on Sunday, December 1, 2019 in Wagon Mound, New Mexico. Prayer Vigil will be held at 9:45 am on Friday, December 6, 2019 at St. Anthony of Padua, Dalhart, Texas. Funeral Mass will be held at 10:00 am on Friday, December 6, 2019 at St. Anthony of Padua, Dalhart, Texas. Art Arguello was born Sunday, January 17, 1943 in Yates, New Mexico to Cornelio Arguello and Odelia "Abeyta" Galan. He was the second born of nine children. Art grew up in Roy, New Mexico where he met Ida Mae Grie. They married in Roy, NM on November 18, 1961 and moved to Dalhart where they began their family. Their four children, Anna, Judy, Sandra and Arthur were born and raised in Dalhart, Texas Art retired from West Texas Gas after many years of service. He also worked for Taylor Pump and Keith Metcalf. Art was an active member of the Dalhart community. He was a long-time member of St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church as well as a Knights of Columbus member and a city council member. After his Ida Mae passed away and he had retired he relocated to Wagon Mound, New Mexico where he was mayor for one term and was currently teaching welding classes at Luna College in Springer, New Mexico. It is safe to say Art was a hard worker all of his life. Art is survived by his four children; Anna Arguello and partner Mel Garcia of San Antonio, Texas, Judy Arguello of Dalhart, Texas, Sandra House and husband Michael of Wolfforth, Texas and Arthur Arguello of Amarillo, Texas. His six grandchildren; Aaron Arguello and wife Charla, Josh Garza and wife Brooke, Michaela House, Brandon Rojas, Alexa Rojas and Eric Rojas, his three great grandchildren; Bentley and Addison Arguello and Jaxx Garza, six sisters and 2 brothers. He is preceded in death by his wife Ida Mae Arguello and his parents, Cornelio Arguello and Odelia Galan. Memorials may be made to: S.A.I.N.T.S.
