Anthony Handing, 66, died Thursday, May 28, 2009 in Amarillo, TX. Prayer Vigil was held at 7:00 pm on Monday, June 1, 2009 at St. Anthonys Catholic Church.Mass was held at St. Anthonys Catholic Church at 10:00 AM on Tuesday, June 2, 2009. Father Scott L. Raef, Pastor, of St. Anthonys Catholic Church, Dalhart, Texas officiating. Burial was in Memorial Park Cemetery in Dalhart, TX. Anthony Handing was born on February 12, 1943 to Anton and Agnes Wink Handing in Amarillo, Texas. He grew up in Umbarger, TX and graduated from high school there. He later joined the Army Reserves. Anthony moved to Dalhart in April 1971 and married Nancy Herring on July 15, 1971 in Amarillo. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus and was a third degree Knight. He farmed in Hartley County and was a member of the NRA. Anthony loved to hunt and fish and was a member of St. Anthonys Catholic Church in Dalhart, TX. Survivors include his Wife, Nancy Handing of Dalhart, TX, Daughters, Joanna and her husband Doug McGaugh of Dalhart, Brenda and her husband Jed Eilers of Fredericksburg, TX, and Deborah Handing of Amarillo, TX, Grandsons, Gabe, Garrett, Grant and Gatlin McGaugh of Dalhart, TX, Sisters, Genevieve Keesee of Amarillo, TX, Mary Kolac of Tyler, TX,, Ann Schenk of Wildorado, TX, Brothers, Stanley Handing of Umbarger, TX, and Marcus Handing of Wildorado, TX. Preceded in death by his parents, brothers, James, Robert, Vernon, and son Michael Handing.The family requests in lieu of flowers, donations be made to St. Anthonys School Endowment Fund or the American Cancer Society.
