Anthony "Tony" Bargas of Dalhart passed away on Wednesday January 26, 2022, in Lubbock Texas. A graveside service has been scheduled for 11:00 am on April 9, 2022, at Memorial Park Cemetery in Dalhart Texas, with Jesus Napoles officiating.
Tony Bargas was born on September 27, 1953, in Dalhart, Texas to Josephine and Raymond Bargas. Eventually he moved from Dalhart, Texas to Tahoka where he made his final place to call home. He attended Dalhart High School where he played Football for the Dalhart Wolves. During his time in sports, he was sure to pick number 33 for his jersey number, which seemed to be a family favorite number. He loved to play softball and even helped teach his niece how to play. Though he never got the honor to graduate High School, he later obtained his GED. Tony loved to spend as much time as he could outdoors. He loved to fish, hunt, and enjoyed a good cookout with friends. One of his favorite things to do was hunt for arrowheads and he had quite a collection that he was very proud of. Tony was also a great mechanic and enjoyed working on his cars. Two of his most prized possessions were his 1967 Chevelle that he bought from his good friend Frank Montoya and his 1965 Ford Truck. He was a great dancer and at times many who loved him got to enjoy a good "Moon-Walk" from time to time. Not only was he a great dancer, but he was also very talented musically. He taught himself how to play the guitar and enjoyed sitting outside playing music and would even join in with his father. He was a farmer and in his earlier years owned his own painting company. In his final years he enjoyed going to play Bingo with his dear friend Nell Fulbright also known as "Momma Nell" to him. He was an avid Oklahoma Sooners and Kansas City Chiefs fan. Though Tony never had the chance to have children of his own, his dog Noodles played that role for him. He enjoyed dressing him up and taking him Trick or Treating and out to visit his favorite places.
Tony is preceded in death by his parents Raymond and Josephine Bargas; one brother Jimmy Ray Montoya; both Paternal and Maternal Grandparents; several aunts and uncles; and one niece Rachel Montoya.
He is survived by his beloved dog Noodles. Sister Linda Reilman and husband Larry of Dalhart. Her daughters Letha Black and Diedra Austin of Amarillo, and Wendy Kleynhans of Dalhart. Another sister Patricia Bargas and her daughter Victoria Hamilton of Oklahoma City. Three Great Nieces DaToryia Gaddis, Kenlea Jameson, Addie Kleynhans, and two great nephews Elijah Gaddis and Corbin Byrd. He is also survived by numerous cousins that he loved dearly.
