Amadita Martinez, 92, passed away peacefully on Sunday, December 20, 2020 in Hugoton, Kansas on what would have been her 77th wedding anniversary. Services were held Monday, December 28, 2020 at St. Anthony of Padua Catholic church with a 9:45 a.m. rosary and a mass at 10:00 a.m. with burial that followed in Memorial Park Cemetery, Dalhart, Texas. Amadita Martinez was born on Wednesday, July 25, 1928 near Pasamonte, Union County, New Mexico to Francisco Gonzales and Ecolastica Cruz. Amadita married Severo Martinez on December 20, 1943 in Pasamonte, New Mexico. Amadita was a housewife and worked hard to help support the family. Amadita is survived by two sons: Cecil Martinez and wife Gloria of Beaver, OK, Larry Martinez and wife Annette of LaPorte, TX 5 grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren and 2 great great grandchildren, brother-in-law, Tio Conrad Martinez of Keyes, OK and numerous nieces and nephews. Amadita is preceded in death by her husband, Severo Martinez in 2018, her son Narce Martinez in 2010 and her parents.
