Alvin Hayes, 85, died on Thursday, September 20, 2007 in Dalhart, Texas. Graveside Services were held on Monday, September 24th, 2007 at 2:00 p.m. in Memorial Park Cemetery Dalhart, Texas Arrangements by Horizon Funeral Home Dalhart, TX Survivors include: his Daughter Vickie and her husband John Lanham of Lamesa, TX Son: John R. and wife Diane Hayes of Odessa, TX Brothers: Keith Hayes of Wichita Falls, TX Frank Hayes of Magazine, AR Roy Hayes of West Plains, MD sisters in Law- Leta Reeves, of Lubbock, TX Roberta Bobbie Hayes of Mishawaka, IN 7 Grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren - Several Nieces, Nephews, great and great-great nieces and nephews Alvin Harold Hayes was born on September 14, 1922 in Guymon, OK to Grant and Herriot (Tidrick) Hayes he served in the Civilian Conservation Corp during WWII in Oregon and on July 22, 1950 he married LaVerne Reeves in Clayton, NM she died in 1989. Alvin worked for American Zinc in Dumas and in 1958 they moved to Grants, NM to work for Kerr-McGee mining operations. Mr. Hayes retired in 1977 and in 1989 he moved to Tahoka, TX then to Lamesa in 1994 then back to Dalhart in 2005. He was a member of the United Pentecostal Church .Preceded in death by his wife, his parents, 1 sister: Julia Downs and 4 brothers: Robert John Hayes, Virgil Hayes, Rev. Ray Hayes and and C.
