Allen “Big Al” Voight, 72, of Hartley, passed from this earthly life into the arms of his Lord and Savior on May 20, 2026. Born on September 9, 1953, Allen lived a life marked by hard work, grit, humor, and unwavering love for his family and friends.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 2:00 PM on Friday, May 22, 2026, at First Baptist Church Hartley with Pastor Eddie Tubbs officiating. Arrangements are entrusted to Dalhart Funeral Home and Cremation Services.

Known to nearly everyone as “Big Al,” Allen earned his nickname honestly, larger than life in both stature and personality. Over the years, he wore many hats, working in farming, custom irrigation, the oil fields, and most recently serving Hartley County. He took pride in hard work and was never shy about reminding folks just how strong he was back in the day.

In his younger years, Big Al could often be found around a pool table, hustling games with the confidence and skill of a true pool shark. He loved fly fishing with his grandpa, treasured time outdoors, and found comfort in simple routines, sitting out on the patio or at the old school desk with a cigarette in hand, watching the world go by.

More than anything, Allen loved his family. He especially enjoyed supporting his grandsons in everything they pursued and took great pride in watching them grow.

He is survived by his loving wife, Becky Voight of the home; his daughter, Destiny Gomez and husband Mario of Kersey, Colorado; his beloved grandsons, Dade and Dagan Gomez; and his son, Jeremy Voight.

Big Al leaves behind countless memories, stories, and laughter that will continue to live on in all who knew and loved him.
