Alice McEvers, 65, of Dalhart died Sunday, July 12, 2009 in Dalhart, TXGraveside Services were held at 10:00 AM on Wednesday, July 15, 2009 at Memorial Park Cemetery, Dalhart, TX. Rusty Hancock, Pastor of Lincoln Street Baptist Church officiated. Horizon Funeral Home, Dalhart, TXAlice Zielke was born July 16, 1943 in Dalhart, TX to Elias and Alberta Zeilke. She resided, with her family, in Texline, where she also attended school, before moving to Dalhart, where she met and married the love of her life, Larry McEvers, on September 9, 1958.She was a homemaker and beloved by her husband, children and grandchildren. She enjoyed playing cards, baking, and making quilts for her family.Her mother and father preceded her in death. Survivors include her husband, Larry; two sons, Jim McEvers and wife Debbie of Logan, NM, and Mike McEvers and wife Starla, of Dalhart, TX; one daughter, Misti Dailing and husband Travis of Dalhart, TX; three brothers, Larry Zielke of Balko, OK, Donnie Zielke of Whitesboro, TX and Tim Zielke of Dalhart, TX ; three sisters, Elinor Lackey of Wisalia, CA, Rose Zugg of Odessa, TX and Irene Miller of New Braunsfels, TX; Fourteen grandchildren and special dog, GEORGEThe family suggests memorials be made to the Missionary Guild at the First Christian Church - and to St. Judes Children Hospital.
