Alice Mitchell Knight, 94, died Wednesday, December 19, 2018 in Conroe, TX. Visitation was held on Thursday, December 27, 2018 from 6:00 to 7:00 pm at Horizon Funeral Home. Funeral Services were held on Friday, December 28, 2018 at 10:00 am in Central United Methodist Church with burial in Memorial Park Cemetery under the care of Horizon Funeral Home. Alice L. Mitchell was born October 26, 1924 in Amarillo, TX to Ernest and Jennie (Kelp) Mitchell. A resident of Dalhart since she was 18 months old, Alice moved to Conroe, TX in 2016 to be close to her family. Alice grew up in Dalhart and attended Chillicothe Business College in Missouri following her graduation from Dalhart High School. She and J.B. (James Braxton) Knight of Conlen, TX were married on Christmas Day, 1946. J.B died in 1954. After his death, Alice sold their Colorado ranch, but kept the farming interests near Conlen, leasing out her land. In 1983 she bought the Trophy business at an auction. She ran Artistic Trophies for 13 years before selling it. Alice is survived by her daughter and son-in-law: Donna and Bob Miller of Montgomery, TX, Grandsons: David Miller of Houston, TX and John Miller of Montgomery, TX as well as great grandson - Parker Miller of Houston, TX; great granddaughter- Campbell Miller of Houston, TX, great grandsons - Luke Miller of Montgomery, TX and Grayson Miller of Montgomery, TX.
