Alena Schwarz, 72, died Saturday, July 25, 2015 in Amarillo, TX.Memorial Services were held held at 10:00 am on Sunday, July 26, 2015 at the Spiritual Life Center in Dalhart, Texas. Graveside Services were held at 10:00 am on Monday, July 27th, in Memorial Park Cemetery, Dalhart, Texas - Arrangements by Horizon Funeral Home Dalhart, TX Survivors include her mother - Doris Laney of Dalhart, TX , her children: Debra and her husband Curtis Chance of Phillipsburg, KS, David and his wife Yonda Schwarz of St. Louis, MO, Connie and her husband Eddie Clark of Bedford, TX, Dona Morrow of Austin, TX, Becky and her husband Darin Parker of Quanah, TX, and Sheila and her husband Tim Yee of Dalhart, TX, a brother Leon Laney of Dalhart, TX and 2 sisters Myrlene Frazier of Shelbyville, IN and Shirley Estes of Ruidoso, NM. 14 grandchildren, 15 great grandchildrenand many adopted kids all over the world. Preceded in death by her father, husband Buford, a son Jim and 1 grandchild. Carolyn Alena Laney was born August 13, 1942 in Amarillo, TX to Sylvan and Doris (Brown) Laney. Alena was raised in Andrews and graduated from Andrews High School in 1960. She married James McAfee in 1960. Alena was a lifelong disciple of God who began ministering when she was 16 years old. Alena was an accomplished musician who taught her girls to sing and together they would entertain and minister to churches and nursing home from Odessa to Dalhart. On July 21, 1980 she married Buford Schwarz in Clayton, NM and they traveled together ministering and starting churches returning to Dalhart in 2001. Buford died on April 20, 2013.
