Sherri McIlroy

It is with deep sorrow and abiding faith that we announce the passing of Sherri Rosanne McIlroy on July 21, 2026. She lived her life with grace, compassion, unwavering devotion to her family and steadfast trust in God. Her faith guided her, sustained her, and shaped the love she shared with everyone around her.

 She was preceded in death by her parents Wayne and Betty (French) Hayes, and son Lanny McIlroy. 

She is survived by her husband of 61 years, Burton McIlroy, son Michael McIlroy (Katie), 3 grandchildren, 3 great-grandchildren, and sister Marijo (Hayes) Hatch. We will forever cherish her gentle spirit, her steady guidance, and the love she gave so freely. Comfort holds us in knowing she is now at peace and reunited with loved ones who went before her. Her legacy lives on in the countless lives she touched and the memories she created. 

A graveside service will be held on Saturday, August 22, 2026 at 10:00AM at Memorial Park Cemetery in Dalhart, TX. Officiating will be Mark Gallegos from New Life Church, Dalhart. A celebration of Sherri’s life will be held on August 22, 2026 from 2:00-4:00PM come-and-go at 6117 Hanson, Amarillo, TX 79106. We invite anyone who knew her to join us in remembering a woman who made the world softer and brighter.
