Sherri Lynn Huckins, 67, of Hereford, TX, passed away on November 11, 2024. A Celebration of Life Memorial Service will be held on Tuesday, November 19, 2024, at 2:00 p.m. at First Baptist Church in Hereford, with Pastor Nathan Adams officiating. Sherri’s Final Farewell arrangements were entrusted to Dalhart Funeral Home and Cremation Services.
Sherri was born on October 3, 1957, in Amarillo, TX, to Donald and Patsy Harbour Anglin. She earned her GED from the State of Texas in 1986, showing her determination and commitment to personal growth.
On September 19, 1975, Sherri married her true love, Aaron Paul Huckins, in Amarillo. Together, they built a beautiful life, celebrating 49 years of marriage and more than 50 years of knowing and loving each other. They lovingly called each other “sweetheart,” a testament to their deep affection and unwavering bond.
Sherri’s love for her family was endless. As a mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, she poured her heart into everything she did. She was an active volunteer throughout her children’s school years, always there to support their education and activities, especially as a member of the Parent Teacher Organization. Sherri was also known for her kindness and generosity, sharing her homemade baked goods with family, friends, and anyone who needed a little sweetness in their day.
Sherri’s heart expanded even more with the arrival of her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, who brought her so much joy. She was deeply proud of each of them and cherished every moment spent with them, from playing games to giving hugs, kisses, and plenty of love. She also had a special place in her heart for her beloved fur babies, who brought her comfort and companionship.
For many years, Sherri dedicated her time and energy to volunteering at First Baptist Kindergarten in Hereford. Whether it was helping with crafts, organizing activities, or just lending a hand, she was always the first to jump in and make sure the children were well taken care of. Her warmth and care touched everyone she met, and her legacy of kindness will live on in the lives of those she impacted.
Sherri leaves behind her devoted husband, Aaron Huckins, of Hereford; her beloved children, Gabriel and wife Taysha of Hereford, Amber and husband Adam of Hereford, and Candice and husband Wade of Friona; and seven precious grandchildren: Caleb Huckins and wife Taylor, Jacob Huckins and wife Tori, Addison Huckins, Alyssa Jimenez and fiancé Jared Tijerina, Emma Schueler, Aubrey Schueler, and Ivy Schueler. She was also the proud great-grandmother of three beautiful little ones: Jasper and Autumn Tijerina, and Lillian Huckins, with another great-grandchild, Hazel Huckins, due soon. Sherri is also survived by her twin brother, Terry Anglin and wife Trish of Schertz, TX, her dear sister, Diana Schehl of Amarillo, TX, and niece, Lisa Crawford of Amarillo.
Sherri was preceded in death by her beloved grandson, Joshua Huckins; her parents, Donald and Patsy Anglin; her baby sister, Christie; and her brother-in-law, John Schehl.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial donations be made in Sherri’s memory to First Baptist Kindergarten, a cause close to her heart.
