Paul Hubert Moklebust

We are saddened to announce the passing of Paul Hubert Moklebust, who passed away on November 27, 2025 at the age of 91. A graveside service to honor his life will be held in Dalhart, TX at Memorial Park Cemetery on December 9, 2025 at 3:00 pm. Arrangements are entrusted to Dalhart Funeral Home and Cremation Services.

Paul was born in Fort Dodge, Iowa on October 13th, 1934 to Harold and Esther Moklebust. After graduating from Eagle Grove High School in 1952 and marrying Donna in 1953, he went on to join the U.S. Army Corp in Fort Lewis, Washington from 1957-1959. He then farmed in Minnesota for many years. After some time, he and his family moved to Dalhart, Texas and started a trucking business.

Above all, Paul cherished his family. He is survived by his wife, Maxine Sanders; his daughter, Danae Pechac; his grandchildren, Christopher Moklebust, Curtis (Beth) Moklebust, Ryan Moklebust, Jarrett Moklebust, Skylar (Alana) Pechac, Savanna (Bailey) Pechac; and his great-grandchildren, Sadie, Lainy, Mckenzie, Jameson and Theodore.

Paul was preceded in death by his first wife Donna Moklebust on January 19, 2002 and his son, Steven Moklebust on October 3, 1999, and parents.

Paul enjoyed hunting, fishing, and was a New York Yankees fan. He will be deeply missed by his loving family and the countless friends he made throughout his life. He had a remarkable ability to connect with people, illustrated even recently when a shared, old-fashioned flip phone instantly bonded him with a stranger at the airport. This simple encounter perfectly illustrates Paul's warm, sociable spirit and his joy in celebrating the simple, good things in life.
