Lisa Wyatt

October 22, 1963 — August 30, 2024

We are saddened to announce the passing of Mary Elizabeth "LISA" Wyatt, who was called home peacefully, surrounded by her family on August 30 at the age of 60. Lisa was born on October 22, 1963 in Wellington, TX to Jerry and Fern Nix.

As a child she was active in 4-H and the Wellington Skyrocket Band. She loved animals of all kinds (except snakes) and showed steers growing up. Her love of the 4-H organization continued into adulthood where she became a 4-H leader and passed her passion onto her children and grandchildren.

At the age of 17 she met the love of her life, Bobby Wyatt. They were wed on August 22, 1981 and she moved to Texline. She lived and worked on the ranch alongside her husband, family, and children. She enjoyed the peacefulness and, at times, solitude of the NW Texas panhandle.

Lisa worked at Burns Hardware in Texline for many years where she enjoyed assisting and greeting many people around the community daily. Her happy place was working during the spring and summer at "The Red Barn Greenhouse" in Texline.

As an adult, Lisa had many hobbies and passions including horticulture/gardening, crafting, engaging in her children/grandchildren's activities, sewing, and helping Bobby with his work. She volunteered at Texline First Baptist Church and was active in VBS and WMU where she spent many days visiting people around the community and lending a helping hand or listening ear where needed. Her fondest passion was her love for children, she never met a baby or toddler she didn't want to hold and love. She babysat in her house for many years.

Lisa had a deep passion for the child advocacy group CASA 69, and spent nine years on the board of directors before volunteering as an advocate for 21 years-having an impact on a multitude of children.

Lisa was a devoted and loving spouse, parent, aunt, friend, and most importantly "Mimi" to everyone around her. She cherished every moment spent with them, and especially loved Christmas. She was a role model and a mentor to many young people who looked up to her for wisdom, guidance, and friendship.

Lisa will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her. She leaves behind a legacy of caring and volunteering. She is survived by her husband of 43 years, Bobby, brother Darvin (Tonya), mother Fern, children Evinn (Ashton), Collin (Staci), Tanner (Jessica), and seven grandchildren: Hays, Grady, Tenleigh, Parker, Quincy, Chaise, and Cannon, her lifelong friend Lisa, and many aunts, uncles, cousins and in-laws. She is preceded in death by her father Jerry, father- and mother-in-law Curtis and Luvina.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial be made to: CASA 69, 414 Denver Ave., Ste. 103, Dalhart,T X 79022.

A Funeral Service will be held at 10:00am on Wednesday, September 4, 2024 at First Baptist Church in Texline with Pastor Danny Sadler officiating. Interment will follow in Texline Cemetery. Arrangements are entrusted to Dalhart Funeral Home and Cremation Services.
