Jackie Leon Welch, Jr., 59 of Dalhart, passed away on Thursday, May 23, 2024. A Funeral Service is scheduled for 11:00am on Thursday, May 30, 2024 in Dalhart Funeral Home Memorial Chapel with Pastor Jeremy McMorris of Paramount Baptist Church of Amarillo, officiating. Interment will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery. Mr. Welch will lie in state from noon until 6:00pm at the funeral home with the family receiving friends immediately following until 8:00pm. Arrangements are entrusted to Dalhart Funeral Home and Cremation Services.

It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved Jack. Jack, as he was known to many, was a gentle soul whose presence will be deeply missed.

Jackie was born on June 24, 1964 to Jackie, Sr. and Barbara (Davis) Welch in Dalhart, TX.

Jack's first passion was the love of his life, Christina. Their love story spanned over two decades, and they shared countless cherished moments together. On September 15, 1995, they exchanged vows in Dalhart, Texas, in a beautiful ceremony surrounded by loved ones. Their marriage was a testament to their love and devotion, and they built a life together filled with happiness and wonderful memories.

One of Jack's other great passions was his business machine shop. He possessed a unique talent for building and repairing computers, which brought him immense joy and satisfaction. Jack's other interests as well, including playing pool and listening to music. These activities provided him with moments of relaxation and escape, allowing him to unwind and express his creativity.

Jack, like most of Americans, was an avid Dallas Cowboy's fan. He and Christina thoroughly enjoyed spending quality time together during football season, cheering on their team and savoring the victories. This shared passion for sports brought them even closer together, creating lasting memories and fueling their love for each other.

Above all else, Jack was a man of God. His faith and spirituality guided his life, and his faith was reflected in his actions and words. He was known by many for his kindness, compassion, and unwavering love for others. Jack's presence brought comfort and joy to all those around him, and he will be deeply missed by those who were lucky enough to know him.

Jack's family was his greatest pride and joy. He cherished every moment spent with his nieces and nephews, showering them with love and affection. Jack's heart was as big as the great outdoors, and he embraced life with a genuine warmth and enthusiasm that touched the hearts of everyone he met.

Those left to cherish Jack's memory are his wife: Christina of the home; step father: Ricky Wilkinson and Traci Howell; father in law: Fidencio and Lupe Fernandez; brother: Bart and Debbie Welch; sister: Minnie and Larry Hardcastle; sister in law: Delia and Gilbert Ramirez; sister in law: Dora and Scott Groen; brother in law: Junior and Jessica Fernandez; brother in law: Simon Fernadez; brother in law: Jesse and Karla Fernandez; and brother in law: Pedro Salazar.

Jack was reunited in Heaven with his parents: Jackie Leon Sr, and Barbara Welch; sister: Charlette Welch and a niece: Isabella Fernandez.
