Henry Galvan, 59 of Plainview, passed away on Thursday, May 29, 2025, at his residence. The family of Mr. Galvan will have visitation at 5:00pm, with a Holy Rosary being recited at 6:00pm on Wednesday, June 4, 2025, at Lemons Memorial Chapel. A Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:00am, Thursday, June 5, 2025, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Plainview. Burial will follow in Plainview Memorial Park. Funeral arrangements are under the care of Lemons Funeral Home.
Henry was born on July 21, 1965, in Plainview, Texas to Mike T. Galvan and Simona Galvan. Henry attended Plainview High School and graduated in 1983. He was an active member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church where he served as a CCE teacher for the youth, a eucharistic minister, and a member on the Jamaica committee.
He married Angie Reyes on June 9, 1984, and together they had three children before her passing in October of 2020. Henry worked at Plainview Athletics for 5 years before working at The City of Plainview for over 18 years. He was a staple in the baseball community as the commissioner of the Babe Ruth League. He served as the commissioner for over 25 years before his son took over. He umpired with TASO and enjoyed every minute of it, especially when he could call games with his son, Mikey. He owned his own Logistics Company, Galvan Logistics. before retiring in 2020.
Henry is survived by his two sons, John Henry Galvan of Plainview, Texas and Mikel J. Galvan and wife Ashley Galvan of Plainview, Texas; his daughter, Kristen Angela Galvan of Plainview, Texas; his five grandchildren: Mia Galvan, Peyton Galvan, Michael Galvan, Tyler Apodaca and JAG Galvan; his mother, Simona Galvan; his two sisters, Selina Galvan Salas (Albert Salas) of Plainview, Texas and Cathy Sarabia (Albert Sarabia) of Canyon Lake, Texas; one brother; Michael Galvan (Amber Galvan) of Texarkana, Texas.
Henry is preceded in death by his wife, Angie Galvan, his father, Mike T. Galvan, his father-in-law, Bernardino Reyes Jr., two brothers-in-law, Ben Reyes III, and Roland Reyes
Henry will be missed immensely by all of his grandchildren who called him “Pa” and all of his nieces and nephews who called him “Tio Honey.”
