Gracie Fierro

January 1, 1966 — May 3, 2025

Stratford

Gracie Fierro, 59, of Stratford, may have lost her earthly battle, but she gained her angelic wings on Saturday, May 3, 2025. Gracie was truly an angel sent from heaven, a devoted caregiver, a loving presence, and a selfless servant to others. She was one of a kind, with a heart of gold and a generous spirit, always ready to help anyone in need. Gracie had a gift for seeing the positive in every situation. Her absence will be felt and missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her.

Gracie will await guests Wednesday, May 7, 2025, beginning at noon until 8 o’ clock in the evening at Beeson-Morrison Funeral Directors of Stratford. Immediately following, a Rosary will be recited at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church.

A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 o’ clock in the morning on Thursday, May 8, 2025, at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, with Father Juan Carlos Barragan celebrating. Interment will follow in Stratford Cemetery.

Gracie’s Homegoing Services are entrusted to Dalhart Funeral Home and Cremation Services.

Born on January 1, 1966, to Dario Garza and Paula Baeza, in Dalhart, Texas, Gracie entered the world as a New Year’s baby and let’s be honest, she’s been stealing the spotlight ever since. From day one, Gracie was a radiant soul, a loyal friend, and the kind of person who made every room brighter, louder, and more alive just by walking into it. She made her home in Stratford, Texas for 55 years, where she became a true fixture in the community.

She graduated Stratford High School in 1984 and built a beautiful life and touched countless lives in her community. She also went on to earn her associate’s degree in business from TSTI in 1986. Gracie married Lorenzo Fierro on April 7, 2000, and they spent many happy years together until his passing in 2013. Due to her health, the last four years, she made Amarillo home with her beloved daughter, Cel. She was a faithful member of St. Joseph’s Catholic Church.

There are few words that can truly capture someone like Gracie because she wasn’t just a person, she was an experience. She didn’t just let you into her life; she welcomed you with open arms, a good laugh, and probably a plate of food. Gracie would show up when she didn’t have to and love without limits. Her absence will be felt throughout because she lived with boldness, beauty, and a heart that never stopped giving.

Gracie was many things to many people: a devoted mother, loving sister, loyal friend, expert blanket-maker, fabulous cook, die-hard shopper, and self-appointed DJ every time you got in the car with her. Her love for music was only matched by her love for being surrounded by people, whether it was a kitchen full of family or a night out that definitely ended with laughter and a few off-key karaoke songs; but we won’t be going into any more details than that. She wasn’t the life of the party; Gracie was the party.

Gracie is survived by her children: Celeste “Cel” Barrientos of Amarillo, Alejandro “Fierrito” Fierro of Stratford, and Janette Grimes and husband Matt of Omaha, Nebraska. She also leaves behind her fur baby and sidekick, Tank, who will miss her belly rubs. Gracie is also survived by her siblings: Dario Garza Jr. and wife Michelle, Jamie Garza and wife Desine, Oscar Baeza Jr., Enedit Baeza, and Erika Baeza-Wisdom and husband Sam; her cherished grandchildren, Elena and Adrian Alejandro; and a large extended family of nieces, nephews, and friends who adored her. Gracie will also be deeply missed by her kindred soul, Luis Mendoza, of Dalhart.

She now reunites in peace with her beloved husband, Lorenzo Fierro, her parents Dario Garza and Paula Baeza, and her stepfather Oscar Baeza.

Gracie lived with heart, humor, and a whole lot of sass. She impacted so many lives and leaves a legacy of love, laughter, and happiness. We are blessed that the joy she radiated will remain within each of us.

Descansa en paz, “Mi Vieja.” We love you always.
