LaVerne Simmons, whose journey of life began on November 16, 1933, in Quanah, TX, has left us on June 28, 2024, in Dalhart, TX. She was the epitome of love and brought joy to all who had the privilege of knowing her.

LaVerne had a passion for various activities that brought her immense happiness throughout her life. From bird watching to crocheting, fishing to spending quality time with loved ones on the porch, she found solace and delight in the simple moments shared with family and friends. Her creative spirit shone bright through her drawings and her love for motorcycle riding added an adventurous flair to her character. LaVerne adored yorkies and cherished every moment spent in their company.

She was a cherished member of several organizations including the Christian Motorcycle Organization, West Point Parent Forum, Cal Farley's Boys Ranch Organization, and St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church in Dalhart. Her presence touched many lives within these communities where she dedicated her time and heart.

LaVerne leaves behind a legacy of love and kindness that will forever be treasured by those who knew her. She is survived by her loving children: Lela Turner, GC Richards and wife Jean; siblings: Sandra Robinson and husband Michael and Rama Harris; grandchildren: David Turner and wife Alicia, Stephanie Donegan with her husband Ruben and their 5 children and her great-great grandson: Malikai, and Corbin Richards and wife Amy; along with a host of other family members and friends who will deeply miss her.
