Mr. Richmond’s Final Farewell has been entrusted to Dalhart Funeral Home and Cremation Services.
Born on July 4, 1959, in Seattle, WA, to Dennis and Bertha (Caskey) Richmond, Dennis was a man of many talents and a devoted family man. With a knack for working with his hands, Dennis spent much of his career in construction and remodeling, dedicating many years to Hartley County. He took great pride in helping people in his community with handyman and remodeling work, always ready to lend a hand to those in need. Dennis made Channing his home over 30 years ago, where he built a life filled with love and community.
On October 15, 1998, Dennis married his lifelong partner, Sandra Lynn Troyer, the love of his life, and recently they celebrated 26 wonderful years of marriage, creating countless cherished memories. Together they raised their son, Bo - an amazing young man of whom Dennis was intensely proud. He truly enjoyed his wife’s cooking and found joy in their shared moments at the dinner table.
Dennis was a loving grandfather to his six grandchildren, delighted in the little moments of life, whether it was sipping coffee with Marty, collecting brass and antique salt and pepper shakers, or coaching youth sports (in his earlier years). A passionate car and motorcycle enthusiast, he cherished countless conversations with his son, Bo, enjoying the time they spent together. He always had construction/building advice for anyone who asked, and delighted in teaching Bo the tricks of the trade. Known for his calm demeanor and sage advice, he was a steadfast presence in the lives of those who knew him. Though he may have appeared rough around the edges in his youth, his heart overflowed with love and kindness as he grew older. He truly possessed a servant heart.
Dennis is survived by his loving wife, Sandra; five sons, Bo and his wife Amber of Amarillo, Miles of Spokane, Justin of Washington, Justin of Alaska, and David of Montana; six cherished grandchildren - Karson, Kanon, Olivia, Violet, Makala, and Erika, and numerous nieces and nephews who loved him dearly. And of course, his fur babies, 2 dogs, Effie and Patience and 2 cats collectively known as The Beans.
He was preceded in death by his parents and three sisters, Dana, Joanne, and Denise. Dennis was a proud member of the Channing United Methodist Church and knew Jesus as his Lord and Savior. He was well-loved by many in the community. His warmth, wisdom, and unwavering support will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
