Charles’ family has lovingly entrusted his care to Dalhart Funeral Home and Cremation Services.
Charles Monroe Sanborn (Charlie Brown), age 53, of Dalhart, Texas, passed away peacefully in his sleep at home on May 14, 2026. He was born on July 13, 1972, in Memphis, Tennessee. He was preceded in death by his father, C.L. Sanborn.
Charlie is survived by his mother, Priscilla Sanborn of Dalhart; sister, Nema Heller of Temple; brother, Gilbert Sanborn of Albuquerque, New Mexico; and sister, Yolanda Delaney and husband Brandt of Canyon; nieces, Sharish Davis and husband Justin of Temple; and Liberty Sanborn of Boston, Massachusetts; nephews Joshua Heller of Apache, Oklahoma, Chad Sanborn of Joplin, Missouri, Matthew Sanborn, Ethan Sanborn, Sammy Sanborn all of Albuquerque, New Mexico, and Jet Delaney of Canyon; great nieces and nephews, Shayra Davis, Shayden Davis, Brandalyn Heller, Kylee Heller, and Breanne Heller.
Charlie had a love for Jaguar vehicles and cooking. He was a great cook. He spent many years in construction before obtaining his certification in fiber optics. He was a loyal son, brother, uncle, and friend.
Family and friends are invited to pay their respects on Tuesday, May 19, from 12:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Dalhart Funeral Home. The family will be present to receive visitors during a formal visitation and viewing from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.
A graveside service for his family and friends to celebrate Charlie's life will be held at Memorial Park Cemetery in Dalhart, Texas, on Wednesday, May 20, 2026, at 2:30 p.m.
Honorary Pallbearers are: Mike Vasquez, Billy Howard, Frank Weaver, Cliff Delano, John Medford, Dean Carroll, Randy Hooks, Tyler Troll, and Dillon Fleming.
