April 26, 1945 – April 11, 2026

Jane went home to the Lord on April 11, 2026, at the age of 80. She passed peacefully surrounded by loved ones and pets.

Funeral Service: 11:00 AM, Saturday, June 27, 2026, First Baptist Church Winfield, Kansas

Jane was a talented and prolific seamstress, known for making nightgowns, shirts, square dancing outfits, and a plethora of other creations. She was active in her community and was recognized as Booster of the Year and served with the Haviland Volunteer Fire Department. Jane loved sewing, reading, baking, playing games, and laughing. She loved to visit with family and friends and reminisce or just get a rowdy card game going. Jane loved playing games with her grandchildren and enjoying their sarcasm and laughter with each other. Square dancing was one of her greatest passions. Sam and Jane traveled many miles together over the years, sharing that love of dancing and time on the road. They were always on the move and enjoying those moments in life together. Jane’s best friend was her little sister Jean. They shared many of the same loves and enjoyed making gifts for each other. Jane and Jean spoke almost every day, and Jane looked forward to that time with her sister.

Born in Cedar Vale, KS on April 26, 1945, Jane was the first child born to Loren A. and Nina Belle Donohue. Jane’s early education was at Akron Elementary, and she graduated in the class of 1963 from Winfield High School. Jane married the love of her life Samuel (Sam) Bucher on September 2, 1966. They had two sons and spent over 55 years growing, traveling, and dancing together.

Jane is survived by her sons Orris Jay Bucher of Glendale, AZ, and Wesley (Shawna) Bucher of Dalhart, TX; her grandchildren Stephanie (Raul) Tapia of Phoenix, AZ, Jessica Bucher of Charlotte, NC, Waylon Bucher of Colorado Springs, CO, and Jackson Bucher of Powder Springs, GA; her sister Jean (John) Elam of Winfield, KS; and numerous cousins, nieces, nephews, and extended family. Jane was preceded in death by both parents, her husband Sam, and numerous aunts and uncles.
