Amelia Sifuentes, 94, of Dalhart, Texas, peacefully passed away on Sunday, October 12, 2025, surrounded by her loving family. Born on February 16, 1931, in Lockhart, Texas, to Pedro and Felipa Hernandez, Amelia married Simon Sifuentes on October 3, 1949, in Dickens, Texas. Their union lasted an incredible 76 years and they were blessed with six children.

Amelia's passions included antiquing, shopping, and tending to her beautiful flowers. She and Simon shared a love for dancing, traveling, and capturing memories through photographs. Above all, Amelia cherished her children and grandchildren, showering them with boundless love and affection. A devout member of St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church in Dalhart, Texas, Amelia's faith was an integral part of her life.

Survivors include her daughters: Marjee and her husband Dale Jones of Haslet, Texas; Edith and her husband Roger Weatherford of Amarillo, Texas; Melissa and her husband J.R. Newburn of Dalhart, Texas; and Nerie and Bryan Skelton of Dalhart, Texas. She is also survived by her sons: Bennie and his wife Dee Dee Sifuentes of Hereford, Texas; and Simon Sifuentes Jr. and his wife Becky of Whitharral, Texas. Amelia's legacy continues through her 12 grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren, and 4 great-great-grandchildren.

Amelia was deeply involved in both her church, St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church, and the broader community. She was widely known for her kindness and sweet spirit, touching the lives of many. Amelia's absence will be profoundly felt by all who knew her, but her memory will continue to inspire and comfort those she leaves behind.

A graveside service was held Thursday, October 16, 2025 in Memorial Park Cemetery, Dalhart, Texas at 2:00 p.m. with Deacon Mike Anzaldua officiating.
